Sign Language Club
Students meet on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00 PM during the months of April and May. The club provides an opportunity for 3rd, 4th and 8th grade students to learn a new language. Students learn how to sign the alphabet, numbers, polite greetings and phrases, and songs in ASL!
Fourth grade students meet every other Friday. We have 6 students each class and we learn to follow recipes and directions on the packaging, using different kitchen tools, measuring, safety and cleanliness. It is a wonderful outlet for social skills and teamwork along with introduction/exposure to daily living skills in the kitchen. The students prepare two to three simple food items and sit and enjoy eating them. We discuss healthy choices, various utensils/tools and how to properly use them.
Power of the Pen
Students develop high quality writing skills through the year long program. The 7th and 8th grade students then compete in a writing competition.
Safety Patrol will be held during arrival and dismissal. Students receive training to promote safety for their peers. This group will help keep our students and families safe when crossing driveways while cars enter and leave the school grounds.
