Soldering Teenage Creations!

My students need a soldering station to work on in our Maker Space, where they can design, engineer and build their Inventions for 8th Grade Invention Fair!

My Students
Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. All students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. My students come in every morning excited to learn and ready to go, while at home may struggle to have family support.

Many of our students are English Language Learners, which makes learning difficult balancing two languages.

My students having challenging home lives, and my vision is to make school feel like another home, where they can be safe, comfortable and have fun!

My Project
It would be amazing to be able to teach my students how to solder in science, and be able to implement soldering into their Invention Fair creations! Never before have my students seen what soldering is, but I can only imagine that this would open their minds to new job positions for those students that love to build with their hands.

Just maybe one of my students has a talent and can make stain glass windows, or can make a robot or tinker around to create the next new an improve invention!

Seeing students expand their horizons and learn new technology and feel accomplished in doing so is wonderful in so many ways. Help us get a new piece of equipment to build our Maker Space for Exploration?
